Tyrone Taukamo plays Centre and Wing for the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Taukamo took part in the 28 Day Reboot Challenge with the goal of dropping weight and being more fit for the coming season. Taukamo and his teammates were in the crunch period of getting as fit as possible.
“The challenge was good, I dropped weight like there was no tomorrow.” said Taukamo.
Players often come back from the offseason with some added weight that needs to either be shed or turned to muscle. It’s key for a rugby player to be able to play the entire 80 minutes without a substitution. It makes being fit even more vital to a player as season approaches.
“I put on 9 or 10 kilos during the offseason. But after completing the challenge I felt really good, a lot lighter.” said Taukamo whose favorite food to indulge in is fried chicken.
When Taukamo isn’t using his big frame against his opponents like to play other sports and spend time with his siblings. Taukamo is an Under 20s player and has high hopes to make a large impact on the team this year.
Freedom Foods partnered with the South Sydney Rabbitohs and a few of their players to take part in the 28 Day Reboot Challenge.
